HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- The Harrisonburg Public Works Department has reopened West Rock Street, now that the bridge replacement project is complete.

The bridge replacement project began at the beginning of April and was built by Hammond-Mitchell from Covington, Va.

This project replaced the 40-foot-long steel beam and concrete deck that made up the bridge.

New sidewalks, handrails, curb and gutter were also added.

The project's construction cost about $525,000.
