Hundreds of Thousands of Marijuana Plants Destroyed in WV

The West Virginia State Police announced Thursday the results of the statewide 2010 Marijuana Eradication Campaign.

Officials say about 420,000 plants were discovered and destroyed and 180 people arrested during the campaign.

Multiple organizations assisted in the initiative including the state Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division, many sheriff's offices and municipal police departments, the West Virginia National Guard, Appalachia High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.
