SHENANDOAH COUNTY, Va. (WHSV)-- One Valley woman won $2.5 million dollars in the lottery.
"She came running in there, and she was shaking and she said, 'I just did it, I just won!'" said Nicole Shoemaker, the daughter of lottery winner, Teresa Showman.
Showman wasn't expecting much of anything when she scratched off a casino cash ticket, certainly not the top prize of $2.5 million.
"I can't believe it," said Showman. "It's just one of those things that still feels unreal."
It couldn't have come at a better time for her.
"I'm not getting any younger, and I'm getting close to retirement," added Showman. "So this is nice."
Retirement has been circling Showman's mind...she's been a truck driver for nearly a decade.
"Yeah, this is definitely going to be a big step now for me," said Showman.
Her daughter, Shoemaker, said it couldn't have happened to a more deserving person.
"My mom is a very sweet, caring person and she's always tried to do everything she could for me and my sister," said Shoemaker. "So, I just think it's nice that she doesn't have to worry about money now."
But Showman isn't the only winner. The Express Mart in Woodstock, where she got her ticket, received a $10,000 bonus.
"I was surprised, I said 'woooow', that's good timing," said Syed Jafri, the owner of Express Mart.
This was good timing for Jafri too, because he just started his business and plans to use the money to pay off debt.
