Page County Technical Center Expanding

PAGE COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- A new facility in Page County will give students a competitive edge in the workforce by expanding its programs to meet the increasing demand for technical professions right here in the Valley.

The new building is not ready for learning just yet. Right now, it's just a shell beside the existing Page County Technical Center.

It will stay that way until the school board and Page County Technical Center Foundation can raise funds to complete the interior.

Teachers at the school said it is a dream come true to have the room to grow.

"I don't see any negatives at all because I feel like you know Lord Fairfax will be entering and Valley Health systems will have a big hand in this and I feel like it will allow for a lot of learning opportunities for the students," said Rosalei Caton, a cosmetology instructor.

The new facility will feature an anatomy lab as well as additional classroom space for health care profession classes. The school board hopes to use more than $270,000 from its budget as well as local partnerships to equip the building.
