Virginia State Police have charged a 15-year-old with reckless driving, as well as driving without a license.

The minor crashed a stolen vehicle into a tree early Friday morning.

The crash happened before 4:30 a.m.in the 1100 block of Old Sawmill Road.

State Police say the car was stolen from the old Ford Dealership in Harrisonburg near the Sheetz gas station.

Officials say the 15-year-old acted alone.

Once he crashed the car he contacted his non-custodial mother who later arrived on the scene of the crash.

Virginia State Police officer Robert Lawson says, "We're still trying to locate the owners in reference to who it belongs to. It has a VML stickler on it. Still has the writing on the windows as if it was on the dealers lot. But like I said, we're still trying to locate the owners of the vehicle."

Virginia State Police and Rockingham County deputies are still investigating the crash.

However, they do not believe the car was stolen as a part of gang activity.

Virginia State Police say other charges are pending for the minor.
