STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) -- Staunton police are still searching for Dwayne Lee White, who is charged in connection to a shooting in the city.

Police said White shot at a home in the 400 block of Montgomery Avenue on Monday night.

The family who lives in the home said that White was playing a card game across the street when he got into an argument and fired his gun.

The family doesn't think the man fired the gun at their house on purpose. They believe he was just trying scare the people he was with on Monday night at about 10:30 p.m.

That doesn't change the fact the bullet flew right through their one-year-old daughter's room, just feet from where she was sleeping.

The girl's mother, Tiffany Fulk, as well as her father and grandmother, say they are thankful everyone is alright. But it's hard to feel safe knowing the shooter is still on the run.

"We can't hardly sleep at night knowing that this guy is still out. Not only could we have lost a child, but a whole family," said Fulk.

Any information on White’s whereabouts please contact the Staunton Police Department, 540-332-3842 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-2017.
