VERONA, Va. (WHSV)-- The Augusta County Board of Supervisors is set to vote June 25 on a proposed water tank in Verona.
Economic leaders have said it could help bring more businesses to the county.
The water tank would be built at Mill Place Commerce Park in Verona. This location is not far from the future home of Shamrock Farms, which is currently under construction there now. The 750,000 gallon tank would help in case of a fire.
The county's director of economic development has said the water tank is an important addition if the industrial park wants to continue to add businesses.
"We're always trying to really market that park, market the sites. It's in a great location in terms of the interstate access, great utilities in place, and it's just one extra thing that puts us in a better position to have more fireflow protection for potential businesses," said Amanda Glover, the director of economic development.
If the board approves the plan, Glover said the water tank should be finished by November 2015.
