Waynesboro Fugitive Arrested

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- Waynesboro police arrested a wanted fugitive on Tuesday.

Qualeek O’Dale McCarthy, 19, is in custody after members of the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Team and patrol deputies arrested him without incident in a room at the Motel 6 at about 2 p.m.

An anonymous tipster notified Crime Stoppers with McCarthy’s whereabouts.

McCarthy was wanted on three felony charges: distribution of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule I or II Drug and failure to appear.

He is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
