Waynesboro (WHSV) -- A Waynesboro man has been arrested on at least ten felony charges after police say he conned folks in the Valley out of thousands of dollars.
Twenty-four-year-old Khiry Washington faces charges for passing fraudulent checks, credit card fraud, credit card theft, and obtaining money under false pretenses.
Police say he wrote more than $12,800 in bad checks, defrauding 13 victims out of nearly $9,000.
It doesn't stop there.
Cody Hill says he was scammed for more than $6,000 after Washington asked Hill to buy him a pair of $650 cellphones.
"If somebody is asking you to get a phone for them and they'll pay you the money or anything like that just don't do it. Even though it feels like it would be something right to do because they give you a sob story and all just don't do it, because you're going to get hit with the credit report and it's going to be your responsibility," said Hill.
Washington is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
