Judge hands down five life sentences to former UVA student athlete who killed three in 2022 shooting

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WWBT) - Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. received his sentenced on Friday for shooting and killing three University of Virginia football players more than three years ago. Judge Cheryl Higgins sentenced Jones with life in prison for three first-degree murder charges and two aggravated malicious wounding charges. He also faces a total of 23 years for felony gun charges.
