Fatal head-on crash in Frederick County kills three

FREDERICK COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) - Three are dead after a head-on crash between two vehicles in Frederick County on Sunday afternoon. Virginia State Police is investigating the crash, which occurred at 1:42 p.m. near the intersection of Wardensville Pike and Bushy Ridge Drive.
Donald R. Mallow, Jr., 60, of Fredericksburg, was driving a 2007 GMC Sierra pickup truck heading west on Wardensville Pike when he crossed a double solid yellow centerline and collided head-on with a 2019 Buick Encore Essence, a small SUV, according to VSP.
Mallow sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Winchester Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt, VSP said.
The Buick’s driver, Diana J. Harman, 60, of Petersburg, West Virginia, died at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt, VSP said.
Patricia A. Gapp, 85, of Fisher, West Virginia, was the passenger of the Buick and also died at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt, VSP said.
VSP continues to investigate the crash.
